Although, I do strongly believe in the value of Design thinking, he does bring up a few relevant points. Design thinking is not the replacement of MBA’s or the next generation business thinking. Having been sitting on both sides of the table of this discussion, I am quite confident that we do not want designers dominating the boards and management of multinational companies. That requires a different skill set, but one that might be enriched by Design thinking.

Over the past few months, I have collected a fair amount of reading on Design thinking and innovation. Just as I was about to summarise a little reading list, I discovered a very good one already composed by Matthew E. May at Open forum.
I recently found a very interesting article by Matthew E. May called Elegant Solutions – Breakthrough thinking the Toyota way. Toyota implements one million ideas a year and has a market value of all the other car manufacturers combined. This gives reason to consider what is it that makes Toyota unique?
